More than 400 famous names, including Hollywood actors, directors and screenwriters, urged the government not to relax laws in the field of artificial intelligence (AI).
According to CBS News, more than 400 Hollywood industry employees have published an open letter calling on the government to protect existing laws that apply to AI.
Among those who signed the letter, which also opposes OpenAI and Google's proposal to use copyrighted material to train artificial intelligence, were well-known names such as Ben Stiller, Ayo Edebiri, Cara Delevingne, Chloe Fineman, Cate Blanchett, Guillermo del Toro and Taika Waititi.
The letter warned that loosening existing laws on AI training and development would negatively impact the Hollywood industry.
Hollywood has long fought against the widespread use of AI, saying it would undermine the industry. Artists are opposed to the creation of digital copies of themselves by artificial intelligence and the use of these copies even after their death.
