The capital's police have cracked down on another case of firearms trafficking, arresting two young men from Fier.
According to the Police, during the search, a firearm, a pistol, and combat ammunition were found and seized from the 21-year-old, which he allegedly possessed with the intention of selling in Tirana.
21-year-old Dejvi Naci was arrested today by police on suspicion of selling a pistol in the capital. His friend Albi Spahaj was also arrested for failing to report a crime.
24-year-old Albi Spahaj and 21-year-old Dejvi Naci, both residents of Fier, had headed towards Tirana with the intention of selling the firearm.
"The Section for the Investigation of Illegal Trafficking, in cooperation with the Operational Force of the Tirana Police Department, as a result of investigations conducted with proactive methods, under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, to crack down on the criminal activity of selling firearms, has organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Suspend 1".
As a result of which they arrested citizens DN, 21 years old, and AS, 24 years old, both residents of Fier.
"During the physical search of the 21-year-old, the Police services found and seized a firearm, a pistol, and combat ammunition, which he allegedly possessed with the intention of selling in Tirana," the police announced.
