After a year of anticipation, Netflix has revealed that the much-anticipated documentary about Victoria Beckham's life and career will be released on October 9. The project comes nearly two years after the success of the David Beckham documentary in 2023, and is expected to be just as extraordinary.
Victoria Beckham told 72 Magazine and Bloomberg that it was David who encouraged her to take on the experience. She said she wasn't sure at first if the public wanted to see her day-to-day life, her role as founder and creative director of two brands, but now she feels like telling every part of the story, including the challenges of the past.
The documentary promises to forgo idealization; Beckham warned that there will also be emotional moments, tears and honest reflections.
"The four years with the Spice Girls defined me as an artist, but they also brought prejudice. I've worked for almost 20 years in fashion and now I feel ready to speak openly about everything," she said.
The film also includes family moments. Victoria has confirmed that there are some scenes with David and the children, although not all of them may make it into the final version. David expressed his support on Instagram, saying: "I'm proud of you" while he can't wait to see it.
The documentary is expected to unravel Victoria's journey from pop icon to powerful fashion name, offering a full, human and uncompromising view of what lies behind the Beckham image and brand.
