Berat's prosecutor's office has requested 25 years in prison for Byniamin Hajro, known as Bujo Çami, for 'premeditated murder' against two people in 1997, a macabre crime that shocked the country.
Hajro was extradited in 2019 from Germany after many years of being wanted for the murder of Arjan Avdullai and Eduart Pema.
According to journalist Anduena Llabani, these murders are related to drugs and prostitution.
" In so many years, let's not forget that there have been more than 300 deaths among the gangs of Berat. And all the groups are groups that at that time, the public doesn't have names but the phenomenon, they raised in Berat only because of the prostitution traffic and that I see the dragging of the bodies for nothing. There was a reason, these are circumstances and facts evidenced by the police and the prosecution at that time. These small criminal groups, who committed monstrous crimes led the drug traffic in Switzerland and the money that came here from prostitution and the girls they kidnapped and took as prostitutes in this country and the revenge of the event we are talking about is related to these criminal activities . said Llabani in "ABC News".
