Democratic Party primaries, deadline for submitting candidacies ends; around 300 members submit applications

The deadline for submitting candidacies for the Democratic Party Primary race has ended today.

The DP Elections Commission has met to review the candidacies regarding the formal aspects of the documentation. The Presidency is expected to meet this week to approve the list of candidacies for the primaries.

Sources indicate that around 300 members of the Democratic Party have submitted applications to become part of the primary race.

All applicants will go through the election commission's filter and then the presidency will approve the final list.
