Albania is gripped by a severe heat wave, which is expected to last for several days. The highest temperatures will be recorded in Shkodër and Elbasan, where the thermometer is expected to reach 40°C.
According to meteorological forecasts, the weather will remain mostly clear throughout the country, especially along the coastline, where stable atmospheric conditions will dominate over the coming days.
However, a gradual change in the weather is expected from Tuesday of next week. Forecasters predict a slight drop in temperatures across the territory, as well as increased cloudiness, mainly in the southeastern areas.
In these areas, brief rain showers cannot be ruled out, while in the rest of the country the chance of precipitation remains low.
Minimum temperatures in mountainous areas are expected to drop to 17°C, while on the coast they will not fall below 25°C.
Transient cloudiness will be more present in the southeast and eastern areas of the country, while the weather will continue to remain hot throughout the weekend.
A more significant cooling of the weather is predicted in the first days of July, when temperatures could drop by about 3 degrees Celsius, bringing relief after days of intense heat.
