The protest held this Monday in front of the Parliament was accompanied by moments of tension, as protesters attempted to approach the Parliament building and break through the police cordon.

From the start of the rally, citizens had brought tomatoes, eggs, and peppers with them, which would be used to throw at ministers and MPs upon their arrival at the Assembly.

The situation became tense when a group of protesters moved into the streets surrounding Parliament in an attempt to break through the security perimeter set up by the State Police. The officers blocked their approach, preventing them from breaking the police cordon.

During the clashes, eggs were thrown at police forces, while officers used tear gas at several points to disperse the protesters and keep the situation under control.

The use of eggs against officials is not a new development. Even in the last parliamentary session, protesters threw eggs at vehicles transporting MPs and ministers at the entrance to the Parliament building.

The protest is taking place in parallel with the last plenary session of this parliamentary session, while numerous police forces continue to surround the area around Parliament.
