The Trump administration has released a third batch of declassified documents related to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), adding dozens of documents, photographs and videos to the government archive on unexplained sightings.
The materials were published on Friday on the official website of the US Department of War and include a number of cases for which investigators have failed to provide a definitive explanation, leaving the nature of the phenomena still unclear.
Among the new documents is an FBI report from 2025, which describes a video recorded by a citizen in the northeastern United States. According to his testimony, a luminous object hovered over his yard, appearing as a “bright red sphere.”
Another video, released for the first time, shows what officials describe as a "plasma-like sphere" moving over a lake in an unknown location in the US, changing shape and brightness as it moves.
The release also includes CIA files that have been classified for decades. The documents show that the agency set up groups of experts and scientists to investigate reports of so-called “flying saucers,” fearing that such incidents could interfere with military warning systems or cause public panic.
Secretary of War Pete Hegseth stated that the department is working closely with President Donald Trump to provide "unprecedented transparency" regarding the government's knowledge of UAPs.
"These files, kept for years under secret classification, have fueled much speculation. It is time for the American public to have access to them. The release of these declassified documents demonstrates the administration's commitment to transparency," his statement said.
According to US authorities, many of the photos and videos included in the dossier were submitted by citizens and recorded with iPhones.
The FBI report describes an incident that occurred in July 2025. A witness, after parking his vehicle after returning from work, noticed a light hovering about 25 feet above the ground and approximately 90 feet away from him.
After a few moments, he took out his phone to film the object, while his wife also came out to see the phenomenon.
According to the report, she described the object as a “bright red sphere” about a meter in diameter. At its center was a white core, similar to a “plasma sun,” about the size of a basketball.
The FBI estimates that the object slowly rose and moved to the left, while both witnesses noticed a second identical sphere standing above the first. The man then recorded the event with an iPhone 14 Pro Max as the objects moved westward over a nearby wooded area.
The report states that the spheres moved smoothly and silently, as if they were in formation or connected to each other. Before disappearing from view, witnesses stated that the two objects appeared to merge into one.
The incident occurred within a radius of about 40 kilometers of several other unexplained cases, known in documents with names such as "Triangle Orbs", "Red Orb Rotation" and "Orbs Over the Pond", in a sparsely populated area of the US.
