Iran has issued a direct threat to the United States, stating that for every Iranian citizen killed, an American soldier will be killed.
The statement was made by Abdollah Abdollahi, commander of the Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, and was published by the Iranian Tasnim agency.
" In response to the martyrdom of every citizen of the Islamic Republic of Iran, an American soldier will be sent to hell ," Abdollahi declared.
The Iranian general also added: "We have prepared for you free and direct tickets to hell."
The statements come at a time of high tensions between Iran and the United States, as rhetoric between the parties has intensified following recent developments in the region.
