The main problem that Edi Rama's campaign has now is that she is leading the opposition.
All the criticisms of Edi Rama's campaign style could open up a debate. The selection of the Owl as the symbol of the Swamp, the selection of Luli for the gala, the selection of women as allies against the lazy men of Albania, the selection of young people in politics without any filter, and many other things could be debated.
But the main problem that Edi Rama's campaign has now is that she is leading the opposition.
Initially, they spent endless energy cleaning up the Owl's biography as a bird, making it Aphrodite's favorite in Ancient Greece and a symbol of intelligence. Well, then we agreed that Berisha is a smart Owl.
Then they rushed at Luli: "Why does Rama hang on to you, and not listen to the Doctor?" They exalted Luli, brought him out of anonymity to the top of social networks for a week, until they realized their mistake.
Then Rama took them by the hand in Dibër and cursed the men as “çyryk”. Here they could not stand it at all – and some with a “q” and some with a “ç” – they began to explain to us that they are not ç(q)yryk, but are men of habit, that their wives are burrnesha. While Rama continues to explain, as if indignant, who the “çyryks” he has in mind are, they insist that they are not “çyryk”, in chorus, from Kukës to Konispol.
Rama then goes to Spille and reminds the opposition of the 2007 campaign, when we published the nude photos, telling the young people: "Do you know what they did to me? They even published my nude photos!" And they have been complaining for three days now: "Why are you telling the young people that we published your nude photos, that this is shameful. Do you want the young people to see you naked?"
Now, I lost a campaign with those nude photos, supporting Olldashi, and the only one who didn't want them published was Olldashi. While the one who forcibly published them was Berisha.
But how can you win a campaign in 2025 with a stupid thing you did yourself in 2007 - only Berisha knows.
Then follows Rama's dialogue with Vrenoz, which he puts on the podcast, but he does not accept and a great opposition enthusiasm erupts that does not last. And to strengthen loyalty, they bring him out in front of a hall with children and he shows how tall he thought Rama was 15 years ago and how small he is now.
So, as you can see, the entire opposition campaign, from start to finish, is being led by Rama. He chooses the topics, he chooses the partners, he chooses the villains, he chooses the victims, and Berisha's DP follows suit.
Now in the electoral campaign, the media is legally required to cover the campaign and cannot ignore this reality. It is forced to watch how Edi Rama leads both his own campaign and the opposition's campaign.
And it's a good thing, because as is clearly seen, Berisha is an old man with dementia and shouldn't have to carry too much of a burden. There are people working for him.
