Drug trafficking and prostitution, Albanian arrested in Italy; exploited a woman

A 40-year-old Albanian man has fallen into the hands of Italian police after being sentenced to 11 years in prison for exploitation of prostitution and drug trafficking.

It was an extradition from England, where the wanted man had been hiding for a long time, and he was handcuffed as soon as he landed at Rome airport, on behalf of the Fano authorities. The court had imposed, in addition to imprisonment on two charges, a fine of 32 thousand euros on him.

The operation stemmed from incidents that occurred several years ago, reported to the Police Station by a woman who, suffering from a severe cocaine addiction, was exploited by the Albanian, who forced her into prostitution in exchange for drugs.

In addition to evidence of the suspect's genuine drug trafficking activity, he forced the woman, over an extended period, to engage in repeated sexual activities with different men in exchange for cocaine.

The woman was also deprived, again in exchange for doses of cocaine, of everything she might have owned, such as her television, cell phones, laptop, and other items.

The arrested man, one of the main drug traffickers in Fano at the time, was arrested after investigations by the police station, after his release he was deported from Italy. He was subsequently convicted and after an extradition request with a European arrest warrant issued by the Pesaro Public Prosecutor's Office, Interpol tracked him down in England and brought him back to Italy, the media in the neighboring country report.

With the help of the border police at Fiumicino International Airport, activated by the Fano Police Station in cooperation with Interpol, the Albanian was arrested as soon as he arrived on Italian soil as the recipient of a concurrent sentence issued by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Pesaro, with 11 years of imprisonment and a fine of 32 thousand euros.
