A 58-year-old man has been arrested by police after being accused of systematically raping his wife.
According to the blue uniforms, Imer Shpata, 58 years old, was arrested, who is accused of systematically committing violence against his wife.
Meanwhile, the wife left the apartment on 22.07.2025 and is still being sought. Two automatic firearms were found and seized in the apartment of the arrested person.
"Police services continue intensive checks to find citizen N. Sh., 48 years old, who left her apartment on 22.07.2025. It is suspected that a serious criminal event may be hidden behind this departure.
At the time of the arrest, the Police found in the apartment of 58-year-old I. Sh., a resident of the village of Bujan, two automatic firearms, which were seized. The weapons will be sent to the Institute of Scientific Police for further examination, to determine whether or not they were used in criminal events.
The Crime Investigation Specialists at the Tropoja Police Station, after receiving information from relatives of citizen N. Sh. that she had left her husband's apartment and had lost contact with him, immediately organized the work to locate and find her.
Investigations revealed that the 48-year-old woman is suspected of having left as a result of systematic violence from her husband. Under these circumstances, citizen I. Sh., 58, was escorted and then detained.
"Under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office, investigations continue to fully document the incident. Also, specialized police services have been engaged to search for the 48-year-old, with the suspicion that we may be facing a serious criminal incident," the police announced.
