The DNA analysis results have confirmed that the body found in the Cerruja area belongs to Eglant Koçi, ending doubts about the victim's identity. His family members are expected to appear at the Tirana Morgue to retrieve the body.
According to investigations, Koçi is suspected of being murdered on June 4 by his close friend, Armand Shakaj. The prosecution and police have reconstructed the incident, concluding that the victim was executed with a bullet to the head in the premises of his bar and offices near the "Ismail Qemali" school in Tirana.
After the crime, the suspected perpetrator took a series of actions to cover his tracks. According to investigators, on June 5, he transported the body in the victim's Porsche, which he then sent by truck to the village of Ibë, claiming that the vehicle was being transported to a service station.
From there, Shakaj is suspected of continuing his journey towards the Cërruja area, on a difficult and little-known route. Investigations show that he passed through the villages of Mollagjesh and Funar, before entering a mountainous forest area where he is suspected of abandoning the victim's body.
According to the investigative team, the choice of roads and terrain indicates good knowledge of the area by the suspected perpetrator, who frequently frequented these locations for motorcycle activities.
