It all started with an online petition from a portal funded by the Sultan of Istanbul. The portal is called 'mexhlis' and is a media outlet paid for in Turkish liras.
This media attacked a religious leader in Albania. A leader who is not Albanian, but who leads a legally recognized religion, the Jewish religion.
This is about Rabbi Yoel Kaplan of Albania, who was invited to the iftar hosted by Edi Rama and his wife Linda, on the last day of the month of Ramadan.
A group of public figures in Tirana, known for their closeness to Erdogan, have called Albania's rabbi a criminal, just because he wore a military uniform to defend his country, after the massacre of October 7, 2023, when Hamas killed 1,200 Israelis and took over 200 others hostage.
Erdoganists attacked the leaders of the Albanian Muslim Community after they respected the rabbi by sitting next to him at iftar.
But it didn't end there. After Edi Rama's visit to Israel, Redi Shehu, an opinion columnist who writes for Turkish-funded magazines and portals, called Israel a genocidal state, in an article full of hatred against Jews. Shehu, a Shkodran native whose relatives used to praise Bin Laden in cafes in the 2000s, is not just against the state of Israel, but against Jews.
A typical anti-Semite, Shehu opposes the opening of Jewish museums in Vlora and Tirana.
"As if all this were not enough, the Albanian prime minister also offers a series of Jewish museums from Tirana to Vlora, without explaining to his voters and all Albanians on what merits these museums will be established. What has been prominent in the contribution of Jews to Albania? What have they done in relation to independence, the state, or the Albanian economy over the centuries? What is their impact on Albanian culture? Have they had an impact on our national issue, when they also recognized Kosovo very late, based on the typical Jewish relationship of 'give me, I'll give you', accept Jerusalem as the capital, I'll recognize you", writes Redi Shehu in his anti-Semitic comment.
Who not only hates Jews in his genes and expresses it openly, calling them with the pejorative idiom "Jews", but without a trace of shame says that they recognized Kosovo late.
When Palestine and Red's Hamas not only did not recognize it, but Palestinian diplomats in Belgrade are also the most persistent anti-Albanians in their statements from Serbia and to the Serbian media.
The Palestinian world, which is divided between the Hamas fundamentalists and the pro-Russians of Al Fatah, are all openly against Kosovo. No Palestinian figure, not only a politician, but also an artist or journalist, has ever expressed opposition to the Serbian genocide against Albanians. And Redi Shehu never mentions this, because for him the nation is the Palestinians, because that is how Erdogan feeds him.
Sooner or later, Israel's recognition of Kosovo is a clear and political decision, which was not made 'give me and I'll give'. Because Israel has not received anything in return from Kosovo, because it does not need it. But it has done so because a strategic ally like the USA asked it to. This is real politics. Kosovo is not recognized even by European countries, with which it maintains good relations; such as Greece, Spain, or even Slovakia, etc. But Erdoganists of the Redi Shehu type do not use this metric for Greece or Cyprus.
The Kosovo box, they only use with Israel. Not that they have any love for the Palestinians, because if that were the case they would go fight for Palestine, like his friends went to Syria. Simply because he takes orders from Ankara, to make the martyr of the Battle of Canakkale and to sow the seeds of anti-Semitism in the people who saved the Jews during World War II.
