Luiza Gega has achieved extraordinary success in the Tirana Marathon, setting a national record in this eighth edition of the race. She expressed her emotions after the end of the race, stressing that it was a double challenge for her, as she had a strong flu during the last two days.
"I started with fear, because I didn't know how much I would be able to carry. When the last kilometers come, the body suffers a shock. Running in Tirana is a pleasure in itself. People who congratulate you on the road and cheer for you, give you a strength that you don't think you have", said Gega.
Gega, who has participated in this marathon for the eighth year, emphasized the importance of the community that supports her in her sporting adventures.
"I have people who support me in what I do. This marathon is different from any race I do," she said.
