An unusual event happened today in the first minutes of the Serie A match between Bologna and Verona.
From the first minute of the challenge, the game had to be stopped and a forced substitution was made due to an injury to the referee of the match.
The head referee, Rosario Abiso, sprained his ankle while running and could no longer walk at the pace required by the match in question. Therefore, after receiving medical help by bandaging the injured leg, he signaled to change.
As the protocol for such cases provides, his place on the field was taken by the fourth referee, Dzakomo Kamplone, who thus directed the remaining minutes of the meeting. While Abiso was the one who from that moment took over the duties of the fourth referee, helping in this role in the continuity of the Serie A challenge.
