The mayor of Vajut i Dejës told the media that the situation is serious and that flooding has begun in all administrative units. According to him, the overflowing of the Glina stream has caused flooding, as well as major damage to livestock and poultry.
Heavy rainfall has affected all municipalities of the Shkodër Region, causing problems in several areas. According to the Prefect of the Region, the most problematic situation is in the municipality of Vau i Dejës, where flooding of homes is reported in the administrative units of Bushat, Vau Dejës and Hajmel.
In the Vau Dejës Municipality, it is reported that 100 homes have been flooded so far.
The Glina Stream has blocked the Vau i Dejës ring road and is advancing rapidly, creating a difficult situation.
Problems are also reported at the Berdicë Arch, near the main Shkodër-Tirana road.
Mayor Kristian Shkreli, who has gone down to the ground to inspect the situation closely, says that at least 100 apartments are already under water.
"The situation is quite serious. Flooding has begun in all administrative units. The clay stream has overflowed its bed and is flooding the entire city of Vau i Dejës. 100 houses have water. The damage is very great in livestock, poultry and beehives, but we hope not to endanger people's lives because the situation is very serious," said Shkreli.
According to him, the biggest problem is posed by the Glina stream, while he appealed that stone baskets, mountain dams and asphalting of roads are needed.
"The entire staff of the Vau i Dejës municipality is on the ground supporting the people and I believe that everything will go well with the evacuation, but I hope we don't have to evacuate."
We have been applying for the Clay Stream for 5 years and we have not won. I don't know the reason why, but it is a very big problem that with the municipality's funds it is impossible to realize this project.
"We need stone baskets, mountain embankments, and asphalting of roads to strengthen it like a dam to prevent it from breaking because if we see it, it has broken the road and entered the water houses," said the mayor.

Due to heavy rainfall, Ashtë, Kosmaç and Barbullush are without electricity. Teams are on the ground and are working to restore power supply as soon as possible.
In the municipality of Fushë Arrëz, falling rocks and debris have been reported on rural roads, as well as the presence of water on several road axes.

Meanwhile, the Lezha Irrigation and Drainage Directorate announces that, despite very intense rainfall of around 150 mm in the last 24 hours, no problems have been observed in the drainage channels, protective embankments or the Shkodra reservoir dam.
In the Gur i Zi administrative unit (center), measures are being taken to clean the bridge and stream that caused the problem, and additional means have been made available for intervention.
"Throughout the night, Shkodra has been hit by heavy rainfall, which has caused several problems in the administrative units of Bërdicë and Gur i Zi.
3 vehicles have been deployed in the area of Guri i Zi and 2 vehicles in Bërdicë, while Shkodra Municipality teams are working non-stop to manage the situation and restore normality very quickly," announces Mayor Benet Beci.
