Mariah Carey not only made a strong comeback to the stage during the MTV Video Music Awards, but she did so with a performance that left the audience speechless, thanks to a spectacular outfit worth a fortune.
Although she was absent from the red carpet, the legendary singer, 56, made a surprise appearance on stage to perform some of her biggest hits and accept the prestigious Video Vanguard Award. But it was her gold crystal-embellished gown that stole the show, a bodycon dress with a tight corset, paired with high-heeled, glittery boots.
The whole look was completed by a collection of diamond jewelry of staggering value. The 204.38-carat “Rosee Eternelle” necklace, designed by Levuma, was the center of attention, along with chandelier-shaped earrings, which together cost about $10 million, according to PageSix's sources.
Carey also chose diamond bracelets from Etho Maria (72.15 carats) and Hamilton (37.62 carats), as well as a 3.25 carat diamond ring.
Mariah accepted the award with a smile and elegance, becoming the oldest ever winner of the Video Vanguard, but perhaps the brightest. A night where fashion, music and legend became one.
