The affair with the incinerator of Elbasan, SPAK takes Arben Ahmetaj, Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtir as defendants for the second time

Former Deputy Prime Minister Arben Ahmetaj has been charged for the second time by SPAK for the affair with the Elbasan incinerator.

The Special Prosecutor's Office has started the communication of accusations against Arben Ahmetaj, Klodian Zoto and Mirel Mërtir, related to the separate faction of the Elbasan incinerator.

Ahmetaj is under investigation for criminal proceedings 277/1 for the criminal offenses of money laundering, corruption in 6 cases and concealment of assets.

During the investigations following the allegations made against him, that he benefited from gifts and trips paid by the administrators of the incinerators, 3 accusations were raised as he was declared internationally wanted. 

Regarding the first proceeding for the group of officials, including the former Minister of the Environment Lefter Koka, GJKKO has completed the trial and given the corresponding punishments.
