What is being played with KURUM? The Turks start making excuses for firing

Reactions from KURUM and the Unions, but 500 employees remain on the streets...

There is no end to the feats that come from Elbasan Metallurgical. Sali Berisha gave the largest steel processing plant to the Turks, who are also privileged by the current government, which is known for its fraternization with Erdogan.

KURUM was involved in the waste scandal, after over 800 thousand tons of toxic substances were banned in Thailand. But, as accusations and suspicions began, another scandal erupted. KURUM will close some of its departments and as a result 500 employees have lost their jobs. They have been informed that the steel processing and rolling sector will undergo an overhaul and as a result the work will be suspended indefinitely. The suspicions are that the dismissals are a type of pressure on the government for the waste scandal. KURUM itself reacted by trying to justify itself.

" The company, anticipating a worsening of the economic situation during the following months, has decided at the beginning of August to start negotiations with the union and legal procedures for a certain number of employees, offering them the alternative of leaving work after 3 months against the repayment of all obligations and the payment of the seniority bonus according to the law, with the option of always returning at the earliest opportunity to resume work in the factories ", says KURUM.

But the former Secretary of the Union of Industrial Employees, Taf Koleci, has stated that the dismissed employees are waiting for a Chinese company that is expected to come to the area. The collective has conducted negotiations between the employees and the company.

" An agreement has been made that the dismissed employees will receive 60% of their salary. The same will return to work, as they will be waiting for the arrival of a Chinese company around the beginning of November. This company, (for which Koleci says that he does not know the name), he will re-employ the dismissed (which according to him are not 500, but only 250 workers) ", said Koleci, currently accused by the Union of representing the interests of the company and not those of the workers in this process.

The Confederation of Trade Unions itself has reacted by criticizing KURUM. But it seems that the trade unions are remembered "after the pilaf". Their leaders have villas, luxury cars and millions in bank accounts, while when scandals break they are satisfied with a press release.

" KSSH thinks and is convinced that the "rabbit" sleeps somewhere else. First, the company "Kurum International" sha is unorganized, unstructured and unable to cope with the world price conjuncture of iron and its waste and slag, where China is greatly influencing the price increase. The ongoing investments, especially those of the lamination factory, have been unsuccessful and probably inflated on purpose for unfair benefits ", the reaction states.

Regarding the departure of employees, it seems that the government has acted as if it has taken measures. The Labor Inspectorate has launched an inspection, but it is likely to wash its hands. The government itself has sided with the Turkish company in the waste scandal. / Pamphlet
