Surrounded and delegitimized by the month-long protest, which is trying to instill a new spirit against the political establishment, Edi Rama and Sali Berisha seem to have begun moves to take control of it.
Edi Rama, with his well-known "divide and rule" strategy, has been trying since the first days of the protest to divide it into "good" and "bad", into agents and manipulated, using well-known techniques of pressure and political blackmail.
The goal is clear: to further complicate the heterogeneous environment and composition of this protest, which so far does not have a consolidated political pillar.
And, unfortunately, it has not yet managed to create a leadership structure that can rise to the occasion and withstand the organized attack of the old politics.
According to sources, Edi Rama is preparing a meeting with some of the protesters next week, with the aim of separating them from the rest of the movement.
In parallel, a propaganda attack has also begun against another group of protesters, who are being labeled as part of the Democratic Party.
On the other hand, the Democratic Party seems to have activated its entire political and organizational contingent to gain influence over the protest.
The objective, according to this interpretation, is to neutralize the component of the protest that demands the investigation and imprisonment of Sali Berisha.
The majority of the group that clashed in front of the Parliament is identified as being close to the Democratic Party, while among them were also people who had previously been identified by the police in other protests for involvement in violent acts, including throwing Molotov cocktails.
Although a number of them were escorted by the police, it is likely that, as in previous cases, they will be released in a short time.
Meanwhile, one of the most well-known protest figures was recently elected by Sali Berisha as chairwoman of the National Council of the Democratic Party.
This development has further increased suspicions that the Democratic Party is trying to build a dominant role within the protest.
At first, the DP approached cautiously, contributing to participation and mobilization.
But now it seems to aim to take almost complete control of the movement, also using its traditional methods of political confrontation.
Methods that can strengthen Sali Berisha's authority within the opposition.
But, on the other hand, they risk damaging the civic and independent spirit with which the protest emerged at the beginning.
