Chief Electoral Commissioner Ilirjan Celibashi clarified today that the Alliance for a Greater Albania Coalition and the Democratic Party have not yet submitted the lobbying contract with the American company "Continental", worth 6 million euros.
He said that according to the law, the DP does not yet have a legal obligation to submit financial reports and campaign expenses, as this occurs only 60 days after the announcement of the election results and only then does the verification of the figures or whether the documents have been submitted continue. Meanwhile, as a political party, Celibashi said that this deadline extends until March 31 of next year.
"Political parties are obliged to deposit their income and expenses with the CEC no later than March 31 of the following year. While coalitions no later than 60 days from the announcement of the election results. This also includes the Alliance for Greater Albania, which ends no later than 60 days from the announcement of the results. There is no obligation at this time to submit income and expenses as an electoral subject and that means that we do not have this contract and there is no obligation, as it is said, as to why this contract was not requested. But the moment we have it, we will give our explanation for this contract ," Celibashi said, among other things.
