An Anti-Terrorist officer is among those arrested in the action between the Brescia prosecutor's office and SPAK.
Officer Igli Haxhiaj has been arrested after being accused of having links to the group targeted by SPAK in collaboration with the Italian side.
Igli Haxhiaj is suspected of several criminal offenses such as leaking investigative secrets, corruption, and abuse of office.
It is learned that in the joint action between the Brescia prosecutor's office and SPAK, the Albanian mafia was hit, which, according to Italian media, was involved in drug trafficking from Latin America and Albania to the neighboring country.
The bases were reportedly in Rovato and Palazzolo, according to Brescia Police investigations. The drug transportation and subsequent trafficking operations were in the hands of Albanian clans.
The Italian prosecutor's office has issued 22 security measures, with 8 people arrested in Brescia. Meanwhile, a total of 49 people have been taken under investigation, 46 of whom are Albanians.
Giornale di Brescia reports that approximately 3 million euros were seized, the proceeds from illegal activities of Albanian clans.
According to investigators, the drugs generated profits of approximately 12 million euros. The cocaine arrived in Italy from South America, while the heroin from Albania. The investigation revealed that the bus drivers were unaware that they were transporting drugs.
