Bad weather, water level rises to 1 meter in Spita, Lezha; road axes are blocked

The flood situation in the Lezha region continues to remain severe, while water levels in the Spiten area are high.

One of the residents of the area confirms that the water level remains around 1 meter, making it difficult for residents to circulate and move around.

For two weeks, intense rainfall has caused numerous problems across the country, but Lezha is among the hardest hit regions. Thousands of hectares of agricultural land were flooded, as well as a number of homes and roads, forcing several families to evacuate. Landslides have also been recorded in some areas, increasing the risk and blocking road segments.

There are reports of significant losses of livestock, mainly poultry, although it is still too early to estimate the final damage. Residents say a flood of this magnitude has not been seen since 2002, and authorities have been on high alert.

Among the problems of recent days is the severe damage to the asphalt on the Lezhë-Shëngjin axis, where several deep potholes have opened. This has caused serious difficulties for vehicle drivers, including tire punctures and an increased risk of accidents.

Local authorities and civil emergency structures are monitoring the situation on the ground, while residents of flooded areas are demanding faster intervention and long-term solutions to the recurring flooding problems in the Lezha region.
