Criminalistics expert, Dritan Rexhepi, spoke about the "landing" of the state police today in the mujahedin camp in Manez, Durrës, while he said that the return of the officers is a normal action.
The authorities started applying careful checks on vehicles and people entering and leaving the camp.
Regarding the frequent controls in the camp, Rexhepi emphasized that logic leads to this being done for two main reasons.
"The return of the police is within normality. I called the actions of the police correct, let's talk about the previous operation. Two types of tracks you can lift. To show the country to them that we are the masters of the house and you cannot create enclaves in Albania, that this is where your right ends. The second is security measures against them," he said.
During an interview for ABC News, Rexhepi stated that the mujahedin violated the code of hospitality. He does not exclude the fact that the day when the MEK can leave Albania will not be far away.
"A part of them are prepared intellectually and physically. The police assure them that there may be an external intervention. Step by step, I have the impression that they may even leave. This can be for security control, but it can be nuisance control, but they can also have information about intrusion from outside and they can stage some situation inside. Until recently, they were labeled as a terrorist organization, they are a brigade, they are not people, whatever. They broke the code of hospitality. The time has come to set up a stationary police station. Psychologically, it would create an effect. Keeping them under monitoring is a problem and a burden, which the Albanian state must take into consideration when they have taken them", said Rexhepi.
The expert says that on a personal level, he was of the opinion that MEK members should not be admitted, but nevertheless, Rexhepi proposes holding a referendum through which Albanian citizens should decide "whether they should stay or leave Albania".
"I am of the opinion that they should not come at all. I would be very pleased if they managed to leave, there is no racism or anything else here. That I don't have the connotation of color, nor nationality, but they are brainwashed people, they are a terrorist-Marxist organization and that's how it was labeled until a while ago. I think that maybe there should be a referendum on whether they should stay or not. In my opinion, they should leave Albania, if Iran's cyber attack is confirmed", declared the expert.
