Protesters return to Skanderbeg Square: Leave the game and join us!
Scene from the march

After rallying in front of the Prime Minister's Office and marching through the main streets of Tirana, protesters stopped this evening at "Skënderbej" Square, where a special environment has been created for the broadcast of World Cup matches.

Hundreds of young people were gathered in the square, watching the France-Senegal match on a giant screen in the center of the capital. That's where the column of protesters arrived, calling on those present to join the civic movement.

"Get up from the coffee shop," "Join us," were some of the calls heard as the protesters passed through the crowd gathered for the match.

Footage from the square showed a large number of young people attending the sporting event, while protesters tried to draw their attention to the messages of the revolt that has been taking place in Tirana for 17 days.

Protest participants argued that, while sports and entertainment are part of everyday life, citizens should not remain indifferent to the problems they believe the country is experiencing.

The stop at "Skënderbej" Square was just one of the stations of today's march, which started in front of the Prime Minister's Office, continued to the Parliament, passed by the "Kosova" school, the RTSH and the Palace of Congresses, and then returned to the boulevard.

The protest, which has entered its 17th day, continues to gather citizens of different ages and is showing no signs of fatigue, while the organizers of the rally have warned that the action will continue in the coming days.
