Albania has been battling wildfires for several days now due to high temperatures and strong winds in certain areas. The most problematic situation is in the south of the country. In the Blue Eye area of Saranda, the situation has worsened, and visitors have been evacuated.

Meanwhile, a fire has also broken out between the villages of Janjar and Ninat in Konispol, where a farm with 350 small livestock and two areas planted with olive and walnut trees are at risk.

The most serious situation continues to be in Finiq, where for days the fire has been moving from one village to another. In the village of Leshnica e Poshtme in Finiq, several houses were burned. Currently, the fire has spread to the village of Krane, in the Mesopotam administrative unit.

There were 37 officers with 6 fire engines, 20 police forces, 30 municipal and volunteer forces on the ground, assisted by the Armed Forces with 28 officers, 4 fire engines, 1 ambulance, 1 tow truck, 60 military forces and air support. Meanwhile, a Canadair aircraft from Croatia dropped water from the air.

The fire has also been reactivated in the village of Krongj in Finiqi , and as a result, residents have been evacuated.

In the protected area of "Rëzom" in the administrative unit of Vergo, above the Skërfica tunnel that connects Saranda with Gjirokastra, there is a fire. Due to the rugged terrain, it is difficult to intervene from the ground.

There is a fire in the village of Bolena in Himara , where operational forces, assisted by 20 members of the Armed Forces, are working to extinguish the flames.

In the village of Lukovë in Himara , a fire has broken out in an area of bushes and thorns. The fire department of Himara, Saranda is working on the ground with 3 firefighting vehicles and 11 firefighter personnel to extinguish it. The Croatian Canadair aircraft has also been deployed. Today, the operational forces are working to extinguish the fire, assisted by 1 firefighting vehicle with 3 firefighter personnel from Fier.

In the village of Malaj i Epërm , in the "Vjollcë" neighborhood of Rrëshen in Mirditë, the fire has been isolated to a forest area with pine trees, oaks and shrubs. The fire is under full control, but operational forces are monitoring it.

On the Allushi Mountain , near the village of Plani Bardhë, in Klos, the fire is under control and is being monitored by 6 firefighters.

In Poliçan, Berat, outside the territory of the Mechanical Plant, the fire continues to burn in an area of bushes and olive groves. The fire has spread over the water supply, near several houses and near the city to the Nursing Home. Residents have been evacuated. Firefighters from the municipalities of Poliçan, Berat, Skrapar, Lushnje, Patos and Roskovec have operated on the ground with 7 firefighting vehicles and 25 firefighters, assisted by 60 Armed Forces personnel and air support.

On the Bërzhitës Mountain in Tirana, in the village of Ibë, the fire has spread to an area of 5 hectares in an area of bushes and thorns. Today, operational forces are working to extinguish the fire.

In the villages of Ballaj and Zhabjak in Rrogozhina, the fire grew in size, endangering the homes of the village of Ballaj, but after a tireless work of the fire forces, it was brought under control, assisted by an AF helicopter and 50 officers. Over 50 homes were saved, in 6 of which the fire reached the yard, but fortunately without causing any damage. Today, the operational forces are working to completely eliminate the fire.

In the village of Okshtun in Rrogozhina , operational forces are working to extinguish the fire.

In the village of Peqinaj, Synej, Kavaja , 10 hectares have been burned as a result of the fire. Today, operational forces are continuing to work to extinguish the fire. A Canadair aircraft from Croatia has also provided air support in this area.

On the mountain of Kruja , above the cement factory, a fire has broken out in a pine forest. 15 operational forces have been deployed on the ground, which have made it possible to isolate it. The intensity of the fire has decreased. Today, the operational forces are monitoring it.

In the village of Turan in Tepelena , the fire has been isolated, but is being monitored.

In the village of Mukaj in Gramsh , the situation has been problematic due to the wind, endangering even homes. Today, operational forces are working to extinguish the fire, supported by 8 officers and 12 forces from the Gramsh municipality.

At the plant in Cërrik , the fire has been isolated and work continues to completely extinguish the fire.

68 firefighting vehicles and 601 operational forces were deployed in the firefighting operations in the country, assisted by the Armed Forces with 183 military forces, 3 firefighting vehicles and 3 AF helicopters.

Also participating were 2 Canadair aircraft from Croatia and Italy, which came to the aid of Albania through the European Civil Protection Mechanism.

One of the Canadair aircraft from Croatia intervened in the early hours of Synej, Kavaja.

Two United Arab Emirates Air Force Black Hawk helicopters are also available today.

Czech and Slovak Air Force helicopters operated today from Kuçova Air Base towards Gramsh.

The Ministry of Defense clarifies that according to IGJEO forecasts, no precipitation is expected today.

"Regarding fires, a "HIGH" risk level is expected in all regions. In some regions, a "VERY HIGH" risk is expected only in localized areas, specifically: Shkodër region (South), Lezhë region (North), Elbasan region (West)," the Ministry of Defense announced.

Maximum temperatures are expected to reach up to 42 °C in low-lying areas.
