The head of SPAK held an informational meeting with journalists, focusing on electoral crime and the progress of investigations related to violations reported during electoral campaigns.
SPAK head Altin Dumani is holding a closed-door meeting with journalists today. The focus of the meeting is the topic of electoral crime, in the context of the May 11 parliamentary elections.
It is learned that the special chief prosecutor has revealed that the SPAK strategy has had a preventive effect, while he said that in total there were 193 materials administered by the prosecution, from 56 reporting subjects.
"The drafted strategy has had a preventive effect, in which the CEC and the General Prosecutor's Office have been a part," said Dumani.
These entities include political parties, the state police, as well as cases initiated by SPAK itself. Dumani revealed that there have been 43 criminal proceedings registered, while 39 proceedings remain under investigation.
There have been 17 decisions for searches of homes, offices or personal searches, which according to Dumani have yielded satisfactory results as substantial evidence has been found.
Out of 43 non-commencement decisions, only 3 of them were appealed to court, but even these were overturned by the court, giving SPAK the right.
It is learned that the majority of the reports filed by political entities are related to electoral asphalt and works in violation of the law, which have been investigated and have not been started.
"The strategy has had a preventive effect, but also cooperation. Regarding statistics and data, I can bring before you 193 materials administered, 35 by the state police, 80 by citizens. Reports from legal entities 16 materials Out of 43 proceedings registered, one has been sent for trial. 39 criminal proceedings remain under investigation. 17 searches of personal residences have been issued by the court where it has been possible to find material evidence.
Even though the election period has ended, prosecutors have prioritized these investigations. There are 43 non-initiation materials that have been communicated to the complainants. Only three of them have been appealed to the court, where the court found the prosecutor's non-initiation decisions right. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the prosecutors who have taken every possible action. "All reports have been verified and have not been challenged in court when they were not initiated. Publications in violation of the law, use of administration, reports have been purely formal and have not fulfilled the elements," said Dumani.
