A large fire broke out this evening in the village of Bolenë, Himara, seriously endangering the village's homes and cemeteries.
The flames, fanned by the wind, have spread rapidly, making it impossible to extinguish them from the ground.
Air intervention was immediately requested, while a Ministry of Interior helicopter began dropping water to bring the situation under control. Firefighters and residents continue their efforts to completely extinguish the flames.
It is reported that the fire has engulfed the pine forest and is located very close to the village's homes.
We recall that yesterday, 2 aircraft arrived from Sweden and 1 'Canadair' aircraft from Croatia, which were activated through the European Protection Mechanism to assist in the fight against the fires.
