In the years 2017-2019, 96 rare works of art disappeared from the Fund of the National Art Gallery, which were given for exhibition to central institutions such as the Presidency, the Presidency of the Assembly, the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture ...
In SPAK's announcement about the arrest of the Director of Roads, Evis Berberi, it was said that in his apartment, paintings and works of art were found, but without specifying them, except for the director's statement that he created them himself.
In the days after the arrest, there was no more talk about the works of art that were found in the road director's apartment; not even in the case of the charge, which SPAK presented in the court session for the measure of arrest, they were not in the statement of found items.
Why this evidence of material seizure was not included in the list of items that were found and seized from the Director of ARRSH, Evis Beberi; such as phones, computers, USB drives, camera servers and document folders included?
A confidential source from the operational group that made the seizure told "Pamphlet" that 21 paintings and 9 sculptures were found in the apartment of director Evis Berberi.
From the preliminary finding, it is said that these works were stolen from the inventory of the National Art Fund, which were lost in the years 2017-2019, during exhibitions inside and outside Albania.
But the preliminary investigations lead to their theft, since by the decisions of the Ministry of Culture, they were withdrawn from the Art Gallery, the National Museum and the Institute of Monuments, for alleged restorations and exhibitions in case of visits by world dignitaries and national art promotion activities.
So far, it has been proven that the 21 paintings and 9 sculptures found are not creations of the "artistic" director of the streets, as he declared at the time when they were found in his apartment, but are precious Albanian works of art from the last century and ancient Albanian traces.
We specify that in the years 2017-2019, 96 rare works of art disappeared from the Fund of the National Art Gallery, which were given for exhibition to central institutions such as the Presidency, the Presidency of the Assembly, the Prime Minister's Office, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education , Ministry of Culture, etc.
They were not returned to the Art Gallery, and a report was made to the Prosecutor's Office of Tirana, but the case was closed due to "lack of responsible persons".
In fact, the responsible persons are those who had them in the inventory, those who ordered them to be removed from the Art Gallery, the National Museum, the Institute of Monuments, as well as the officials of the prime minister's office, the assembly, the presidency, the ministries who had taken them and the group that exhibited inside and outside Albania.
In the paintings, the only "restoration" that has been done is the deletion of the names of the authors; but the track of the investigation may be the role of the Director of ARRSH, Evis Berberi, as a hider of those who actually stole them, or who bought them from thieves./ Pamphlet
