The apartment was once rented by Beqaj, but there are doubts that he is actually the secret owner...
The officers of the National Bureau of Investigation conducted nearly 3 hours of control in an apartment in Vlora that is suspected to belong to Ilir Beqaj. At around 15:00 the agents and the police searched the apartment by order of SPAK and only after 18:00 the search was completed. The agents came out with files and documents in their hands.
Beqaj is in prison for dealings with EU funds, and SPAK had suspicions that he had hidden evidence important to the investigation, in an apartment in Vlora. The apartment was declared by Beqaj as rented, but it seems that there are doubts that that property is his and he did not declare it. The apartment is located in Lungomare.
Before he was arrested, Beqaj, together with his family, went to this apartment in Vlora every weekend. Beqajt's apartment is located on the 7th floor of a building in this area. According to the information, in the previous checks, photos of the apartment with the same furnishings were found in Beqaj's belongings, and after the verifications, the apartment was found. Also, sources indicate that BKH officers have also carried out checks in the garages of the apartment building in Vlora in search of a car, but have not found anything.
The one who revealed the details is Beqaj's lawyer himself, who seems to have fallen in after revealing SPAK's doubts. The agents asked him for the key to the apartment, but after he refused with the argument that Beqaj has no connection with that apartment, the police and BKH took the fire brigade and entered by force.
" Today, 24.07.2024, around 14:00, I, as the lawyer of Mr. Ilir Beqaj, I was contacted on the phone by the relevant SPAK officers, who asked me to be present at the control that would be done (according to them) to the house owned by Mr. Ilir Beqaj in Vlora, also asking me to bring them from Tirana and the key to this house, as otherwise they would break down the door. After I explained to the relevant SPAK officer that Mr. Ilir Beqaj does not own any apartment in Vlora, he apologized for having expressed himself wrongly and explained that it is about an apartment that Mr. Beqaj does not own it, but has rented it according to a lease contract of 2020. My answer was that if it is about the house that Mr. Beqaj had a lease and that he declared in ILDKPKI, this lease contract of 2020 is no longer in force and Mr. Ilir Beqaj has not been using this house for rent for a long time, so I, as a lawyer, had no reason to leave Tirana for Vlora to participate in the control of an apartment that was owned and used by someone else, and even such a request was completely illegal ", writes lawyer Ermal Yzeiraj.
He even claims that Ilir Beqaj is neither the tenant nor the owner of this apartment. But then why does SPAK have mercy there? Why did the inspection last 3 hours, if the apartment is not Beqaj's? Why would SPAK enter someone else's house for 3 hours?
According to the information, SPAK has launched a property investigation against Beqaja and it seems that hidden properties have emerged during the investigation. One of them is the apartment in Vlora. It should be noted that just today SPAK sent former mayor Fatos Tushe to trial for concealment of assets, who had also hidden an apartment in Lungomare. / Pamphlet
