Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov has stated that Moscow is ready to welcome US President Donald Trump's emissaries, Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner, at any time, as soon as they have the opportunity to visit Russia.
In an interview with Russian television journalist Vesti, Pavel Zarubin, Peskov said that the two envoys are currently engaged in other tasks, but stressed that Russia remains open to a visit by them.
"They are busy now. As soon as they have more free time, they will always be welcome in Moscow ," Peskov stated.
He added that, although there have been no visits by these emissaries to Russia for some time, contacts between Moscow and Washington continue to take place regularly through existing diplomatic channels.
"Contacts are indeed quite frequent through available channels," the Kremlin spokesman stressed.
Peskov's statements come at a time when efforts for dialogue between Russia and the United States are expected to increase, particularly regarding the war in Ukraine and other issues of bilateral relations.
The Kremlin has reiterated on several occasions that it remains open to dialogue with the Trump administration, emphasizing that contacts between the two countries continue despite the lack of high-level visits in recent months.
