Hamas delegation today in Cairo for a ceasefire agreement, Egypt invites Israel

A Hamas delegation will be in Cairo today, where they will discuss the ceasefire proposal as well as the release of the hostages.

The delegation will discuss a ceasefire proposal submitted by Hamas to mediators from Qatar and Egypt.

The Hamas delegation, headed by its top leader, Khalil al-Hayya, while an official told AFP that the Palestinian group had "no big problem" for a ceasefire in Gaza: "The atmosphere is positive, if we are not new obstacles Israeli".

Egypt also invites Israel to participate in discussions to discuss the conditions for the ceasefire. There are still no details on this Hamas proposal, but Reuters reports that Hamas is expected to respond to Israel's latest phased ceasefire proposal in Gaza submitted on Saturday.

The plan includes an agreement to accept the release of fewer than 40 hostages in exchange for the release of Palestinians held in Israeli prisons and a second phase of a ceasefire that includes a "sustainable period of calm," Israel's compromise response to a Hamas' demand for a permanent ceasefire.

After the first phase, Israel will allow free movement between southern and northern Gaza and a partial withdrawal of Israeli troops from Gaza.
