
The Police Supervision Agency (AMP) has suspended several police officers in Saranda after the publication of a video in which they are heard making unethical comments towards two female tourists passing by on the street.
In an official announcement, AMP announced that it has temporarily suspended the employees allegedly appearing in the video, while it has initiated disciplinary proceedings to fully clarify the circumstances of the case.
" Regarding the publication on social networks of a video, in which several employees of the Police Supervision Agency in the city of Saranda are allegedly involved, we inform you as follows:
On 11.06.2026, AMP employees were in the city of Saranda, together with State Police employees, in the framework of implementing the prosecutor's order, issued based on the court's decision, to search the apartment of police officer Ajdin Islamaj.
The citizen in question is a person under investigation in criminal proceedings no. 304/2026, for the criminal offense of “Abuse of office”, provided for by article 248 of the Criminal Code, against whom a security measure has been imposed. During the actions for the execution of the search warrant, the police officer initially objected and refused to open the door of the apartment to exercise the search.
The Police Supervision Agency has taken the measure of temporarily suspending the employees allegedly involved in the video and has initiated disciplinary proceedings to fully clarify the circumstances of the case.
At the same time, the first procedural actions are being carried out and the relevant materials will be referred to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction of Saranda, for further assessment and prosecution according to competence ," AMP announces.
