At least 45 Palestinians were killed by the Israeli attack on a camp in the southern city of Rafah, of which 23 were women, children and the elderly. This horrific attack has prompted a major international reaction against Israel.
In a reaction to the attack that happened last night, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that there had been a "tragic mistake".
In a speech before parliament, he said that Israel was investigating the attack and that there would be an answer to what happened very soon.
Meanwhile, a Palestinian woman living in the Rafah tent camp, targeted in an Israeli airstrike, has described enduring a "terrible night".
" We were sitting, and suddenly there was a huge explosion and fire. People started screaming. We went out to see what happened... We spent the whole night pulling out the mutilated bodies of adults as well as children." , she said.
She said that when the shell hit, people and their body parts started flying around. Those who survived now fear for their lives and are trying to leave the camp, she added.
