"Israel, by the standards it set for itself, has accomplished the goals it set for itself," US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told reporters during a visit to Brussels.
Blinken also said that the time has come to end the war. He further stated that the US wants a real and prolonged pause in the fighting in Gaza so that aid can reach the people who need it.

However, eight international aid groups said Israel had failed to meet US demands to improve aid access. Food security experts have said that famine is likely to be imminent in some parts of the Belt.

Since then, more than 43,500 Palestinians, mostly civilians, have been killed in Gaza, two million displaced and much of the Strip reduced to rubble.
