The leader of the Iranian-backed Lebanese militant group Hezbollah has vowed to keep up the pressure on Israeli forces along the border with Lebanon.
In a televised address last night, Hassan Nasrallah said that Israel will eventually be forced to halt its military operations in Gaza. Israel and Lebanon have exchanged fire almost daily since the war began.
Nasrallah said Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has not achieved any of his war goals in Gaza.
" We are now in the sixth month and Israel is negotiating with Hamas. "Hamas is not negotiating from a weak point, but is saying no and setting conditions," said Nasrallah.
Netanyahu has vowed to continue the fight until Israel achieves "total victory" over Hamas and all remaining hostages kidnapped on October 7 are returned.
Hamas has said it will not release all captives until Israel ends its offensive, withdraws from Gaza and releases a large number of Palestinian prisoners, including top militants. Nasrallah said the case was not about exchanging hostages for prisoners.
