A week ago, Ilir Meta announced at the protest in front of the Tirana municipality that he had driven away the guards who, according to the law, must take care of his safety.
A decision, completely unconstitutional, since according to the laws of the Republic, a former President will have to be protected by the state for 5 years after leaving office.
And this constitutional law was not made simply for the individual who left the presidency, but for the dignity of the state.
Even if we accept the fact that Ilir Meta has decided to voluntarily give up the constitutional protection, the first thing he should do is with full written responsibility, so that if something happens to him tomorrow, no one will say that they attacked the former President of the Republic. Because this can happen!
Anyway, for the people who follow this seemingly not so priority issue, the normal question comes: why does Ilir Meta give up the state bodyguards? When do they have a defined protocol?
Are they patronizing? Ilir Meta has the opportunity, as the former president of the Republic, to document the acts and denounce to the prosecutor's office all cases where a Guard officer violated the law.
But this is not the case! Ilir Meta, has removed the guards and returned a private security, namely a former officer who protected Fatos Nano, today he is a big believer in the country, for completely personal and political reasons, not to mention for reasons of justice .
Meta, in all likelihood, did not want his movements, as they are legally entitled to be recorded in the Guard's book, and most importantly, he did not want the guards to know the interior of the apartments that Ilir Meta frequents.
Today, Ilir Meta is the politician who is being investigated together with his family regarding the wealth he has created. And here lies the real problem, the former President has dismissed the guards, so that there is no possible record of investigation of close people. For whom there are suspicions that they may have transferred assets, or even possible movement of data related to the investigation.
The agencies that have helped ILDKPKI and SPAK in the investigation of finding the money of Albanian politicians, it is known, have managed to bring important records of the transfer of financial assets and real estate.
It is no coincidence that SPAK went to Monika's mother to seize a cell phone, which was not the mother's, but the LSI MP herself, who asked not to be seized.
As it is learned, it was precisely this investigation that forced Ilir Metn to announce the expulsion of the bodies. Perhaps to convey the message that he has discovered the investigative game.
