Kurti in Sarajevo for the new maps, Rama (doesn't) give up the old ones

Shkruar nga Fadil Lepaja

If Trump and Grenell will allow the drawing of new maps and borders, Albanians must have an alternative to the maps that the Vucic-Rama-Thaci trio once drew. It seems that Kurti's new strategy has this meaning: if we draw new maps, they must form new borders between Albanians and Serbs, Albanians and Bulgarians, Bosniaks and Serbs. This is how new alliances make sense...

Trump is coming, and with him also Richard Grenell, who is expected to take an important role in solving special situations, especially where the Russians or even the Serbs have a hand in the Balkans. This may seem like a concession made to the Russians, from the beginning of the eventual talks, and in the case of the Western Balkans, a concession to the Serbs as well.

But, also, could this just be a bait? Send the intercessor who accepts those whom you should treat better. This could be a strategic alignment before the negotiations, which will not only have the Western Balkans in focus, although it will be discussed. Here contacts between Russia and the West will be restored, ideas and principles will be shaped. All the more, the interests of the parties will be clarified, the arguments will be built, on which the lines will be divided in other regions as well.

But this looks like the big map, and on the small map, Kurti traveled these days to Sarajevo even though the formal reason for this trip no longer existed. Note that the Western Balkans/EU conference was canceled due to a banal supply tender although the reasons may be (geo)political. Some may blame Mr. Dodik, but he has a health alibi. However, Kurti nevertheless went to the meeting with the Group of Independent Intellectuals "Krug 99", which is a non-governmental organization in Sarajevo, where he discussed "regional relations and the challenges the region faces".

Why is Kurt's trip to Sarajevo important, which the Serbs took as a political provocation while the Bosniaks took it as building a fraternal bridge? How can a fraternal bridge be built between Bosniaks and Albanians at a time when the three peoples of BiH, Serbs, Croats and Bosniaks, who speak the same language, where ¼ of the population lives in mixed marriages, and these peoples are only distinguished by religion, while Albanians and Bosniaks are united only by religion, even though the last census questions this too?

But... let alone, brotherhood over ideology, politics and religion can hardly exist. But back to Kurti. "I have changed the strategy but not the goals," he said, these days, when he was accused of abandoning the goal of national unification. Some of the new alliances of the Kosovar Prime Minister may clarify a little what this statement means, which some carelessly interpreted only in the context of the electoral campaign. But was there something more?

It seems unlikely that the Islamic parallel could be a motive for Kurt to travel to Sarajevo, but an informal coalition with the Bulgarians for Macedonia and with Turkey for Bosnia makes sense anyway. This would re-actualize "Corridor 8" and the Islamic Transversal connecting Istanbul with Kladusha in Bosnia.

The empowerment of these projects, once anathema, and brought down by global conjunctures, can now become regional alternatives under the Trump doctrine.

This would also strengthen and legitimize an alternative project for changing the borders in the Balkans through an international conference, where multi-ethnic states, the product of the current concept of Western globalism, would not survive.

When we come to Kurti and his new goals/strategy, the alignment of the Albanian parties close to Kurti with the pro-Bulgarian alliance in Macedonia in front of DUI and other parties close to Edi Rama, globalism and multi-ethnicity, this trip to Sarajevo makes more sense wide. The meeting that reveals a "spiritual connection" between Bosniaks and Albanians opens reasonable discussions which aim to understand why it was necessary right now and how it fits into Kurti's new strategy.

So what did Kurti want in Sarajevo? What did you need the "fraternal" meeting with the group of intellectuals "Krug '99" and where does that fraternal atmosphere come from between Bosniaks and Albanians, intellectuals of a people who consider their fellow citizens who speak the same language, share the same traditions and blood? Nothing but historical experience with their Orthodox and Catholic brethren. If we exclude historical experiences, the only thing in common with them remains religion. Are there brothers from the religion?

Kurti had continuously opposed the Vučić-Rama project for the Open Balkans and the concept of changing the borders of these two leaders and Thaçi. Now that it has come to the change in the American administration and therefore also in the EU, changing the borders is becoming a serious alternative. However, the Kurti Government has so far opposed any change of borders according to the Rama-Thaçi-Vučiç concept, but is it against any change of borders, in fact?

Equally important is the question of whether this can be achieved without a new war?

Can a new international agreement create nation-states, legitimize and end the conflicts of different peoples over territories and open borders and cooperation in the region?

Will Trump and Grenell "overthrow" the multi-ethnic states in the Balkans, which by their very nature constantly generated separatist ideas and internal and neighboring conflicts? This will be seen soon after January 20, 2025.

Anyway, this is not up to Kurt, but it seems that his idea is that the "horse" race is about to start, it seems that he is saddling his father. If Trump and Grenell will allow the drawing of new maps and borders, Albanians must have an alternative to the maps that the trio Vucic-Rama-Thaci once drew. It seems that Kurti's new strategy has this meaning: if we draw new maps, they must form new borders between Albanians and Serbs, Albanians and Bulgarians, and Bosniaks and Serbs. This is how new alliances make sense.../ Pamphlet
