The Bank of Albania has increased the purchase of European currency in the market to stabilize the exchange rate.
According to the calendar for 2024, about 330 million euros are expected to be withdrawn from the market. Meanwhile, in the exchange rate, one euro is currently exchanged at the limits of 98 lek.
Governor Gent Sejko said that the lek continues to be overvalued, while declaring that the economy has had stable growth. According to him, inflation is expected to return to the target during the next year.
The Bank of Albania decided not to change the basic interest rate of 2.75%.
