"The client must pay at least the principal obligation, obviously. In the meantime, the interest rate can be applied, but be careful! We are in situations where, in addition to interests, penalties are also paid, and here there is a need for intervention" , said Spaho.
Meanwhile, for about 3,600 customers who were repaying loans to Micro Credit Albania" and "Final", the Bank of Albania has sent a letter to the State Agency of Cadastre with the aim of not alienating the properties of "indebted citizens". This is considered by experts as a way to break the chain of abuses.
"The Bank of Albania has clear data that these companies have gone beyond their legal powers. So every file must be seen. it is very good that the Bank of Albania has sent this letter in order to limit further abuses", said teacher Spaho.
Spaho appreciates the commitment of the Central Bank and the Ministry of Justice for the drafting of a new legal basis for the management of the microfinance market, which included Micro Credit Albania" and "Final".
"Unfortunately, it took so many people to get to this point. There is a need for legal revisions and clarification of competences in order to guarantee when to intervene", he said.
