But the problem that may arise with "Kurum" if it is proven that they are not soil but toxic waste, is what has this company done these 20 years in Albania with this similar waste?
In parallel with the news about the scandal of possible toxic waste exported to Thailand, originating from the company "Kurum", the company announced that it will lay off 500 workers due to the repair of the furnaces.
Deputy Erion Braçe considered this as a blackmail of the company under investigation against the government, threatening to increase the number of unemployed, but in fact it could be more than that.
The story of the toxic waste scandal has now been removed from the public debate, as the opposition is sick of being affected by Kurumi", the government is sick of its institutions being affected in various decision-making processes, and the only ones who act like "stupid devils are these NGOs that issue a license to the company "Sokolaj" for the transport of waste as a sign that the government is confused.
In fact, it is the only document that saves the government, and it seems as if they are paid by the government in this campaign. The fact that the company "Sokolaj" has a license to transport toxic waste, but no one has requested and given it any authorization to transport toxic waste, is the strongest fact that saves the government.
Formally, the government considers "goods", what was transported based on the statements of experts, and not waste. For waste, authorization is required for each load. And at least from 2020 there is no authorization.
But the problem that may arise with "Kurum" if it is proven that they are not soil but toxic waste, is what has this company done these 20 years in Albania with this similar waste?
And this is the real problem that this company has, but also the Albanian state.
The details of the papers they put out to make it look like they are investigating are nothing compared to the fact that these furnaces have been producing the same standard of waste for 20 years. Where are they?
This question may cause "Kurum" to pick up his loot and leave before something bigger happens to him. Because unlike us, they know what they have done.
