The message is clear and emphasizes that the Kurti government's actions have increased tensions and instability, which makes it difficult for the US to work productively on shared priorities with Pristina.
The statement emphasized that the relationship between the US and Kosovo has always been built on strengthening peace and stability as a basis for economic prosperity, but the actions and statements of the acting Prime Minister have called into question the progress achieved over the years.
The problem lies precisely in the deeply selfish approach that Kurti has built, creating constant unnecessary clashes with the country's most important strategic partner, thanks to which the state of Kosovo itself exists.
The suspension is not just a procedural measure, but it fundamentally affects the future of Kosovo, because the Strategic Dialogue was conceived as a means of strengthening economic and diplomatic ties for the benefit of the two peoples.
Through today's statement, the message was clear that these efforts can only resume when the right conditions are created, implying that the burden falls on the leadership in Pristina and especially Albin Kurti to change their approach.
Kosovo does not have the luxury of entering a collision course with the US.
It is a fragile state, with territorial integrity threatened at all times by Serbia and internationally supported precisely because of American defense, therefore any breakdown of this relationship is a step towards isolation and a direct threat to its very existence.
