This has happened in nearly 12 recent local and central elections. It was 2013, when Edi Rama declared from Elbasan that "this city will be reborn with the Socialist Party". There were also skeptics, but the majority, even the remaining democrats, had faith in him. And what was promised happened.
Elbasan today is the second city after Tirana for investments, for business growth, for the increase in the number of students who go to school, the number of students, the increase and cultivation of agricultural crops, the growth and qualitative development of art, culture, tourism and sports. Gledian Llatja, the mayor, has a wonderful staff. Today, he manages a large municipality that starts from Gjinari, Labinoti Mal, Graceni and extends all the way up to the picturesque Funari. The staff and team of the municipality do their utmost every day to clean, sanitize, invest, promote, and increase interest in the tourist spots and resources of the area, but also to expand the Socialist Party. Glediani serves every citizen, and there are no party or political differences, and this has naturally increased his popularity.
Glediani has his second mandate, while the city has increased the range of investments, and the interest of foreigners to live there. Thanks to Glediani's interest, based on the promise of Prime Minister Rama, Elbasan is successfully completing the major investment for "Water 24 Hours". The city is experiencing the era of investments. Their growth, care for the citizen and especially the elderly, has increased in Elbasan, support for the Socialist Party and Edi Rama. Citizens in Elbasan do not easily forget the horror of 1997, when gangs ruled the city, neighborhoods and road axes.
The rule of law remains a daily challenge for the district police there. Edi Rama does not forget Elbasan. The frequent complaints in Elbasan are more related to investments in infrastructure, education, sports, culture, etc. Recent polls list Elbasan among the cities that vote massively for the left. The Democratic Party in Elbasan remains almost non-existent.
Divided into 3-4 parts, the branch of that party in Elbasan remains powerless to influence the May 11 vote. The great reversal of the current opposition starts from Elbasan on May 11. Berisha knows very well that, on May 11, he cannot get the majority of votes from the Albanians, he cannot take power from Edi Rama who has something to boast about, so he organized the failure of the primaries, to find the right reason behind the next defeat.
