Some opposition politicians aligned in favor of Sali Berisha are calling not to use the visit politically, while 4 days ago Berisha's official spokesperson in a comment, after the news that Blinken would not come to Tirana, emphasized that if he came , it was a support for the regime of Edi Rama and the corrupt government of Tirana. There can be no more political use than that.
The truth is that the Secretary of State Anthony Blinken comes to Tirana on Thursday, choosing Albania as one of the countries of the Balkan region which illustrates the strong partnership with the US since the Afghanistan crisis, to the constructive leadership role in the Security Council for Ukraine and in the politics of stability in the region.
But Secretary Blinken's visit has a dimension that radiates strongly in Albania's internal politics, since he is coming to support the new justice system and the special anti-corruption prosecution, which is also a direct investment of the US policy, which has stirred more more than anyone else politics in Tirana.
Even today, there is no issue of internal politics in Albania that is not related to the new justice system.
Anthony Blinken will meet the prosecutor Altin Dumani, who is at the epicenter of the political attacks of Sali Berisha's opposition, being anathema every night as a criminal, bandit and assassin of democracy. His speeches are public every night from the top of the balcony.
Now when the US Secretary of State comes to Tirana and meets "a criminal" or "mercenary" as Sali Berisha calls him, of course we have a strong involvement of the Secretary of State in matters of domestic politics, no matter how cautiously we talk about this point. He is showing everyone the red line where the US does not allow to be touched. And that is justice.
Today, Altin Dumani is the only actor who produces politics as much as all other political actors in the country, through restoring justice to untouchable politicians. He is the man who shook the government, bringing to justice its highest officials, from the deputy prime minister to MPs, ministers and other high officials. And this is today the only food that the opposition has against the government.
The difference is that the government has accepted the weight of the cross of the new justice and is trying to survive the punishments by accepting that challenge.

And this is an issue that has produced politics in the opposition, it has divided it and today we have a consolidated anti-American camp in Albanian politics, led by Sali Berisha.
I don't know that any involvement in domestic politics in the country means more than that.

Now, whoever sits under the Balcony and listens to the curses about Altin Duman, has no reason to worry about Blinken getting involved in domestic politics. Just as they have lined up in support of Sali Berisha, Secretary Blinken has lined up on the side of SPAK and the new justice.
So don't waste your time pretending to be with Berisha and Blinke. Blinken has chosen who he is with. This only annoys Berisha, who is at least the only person honestly depressed by this visit.
