The police have conducted an action to crack down on the criminal activity of cannabis cultivation and production and illegal possession of weapons.
It is learned that two brothers, Ilir Deda, 40 years old, and Pashk Deda, 45 years old, were arrested after 24.5 kilograms of narcotics were seized during a search of their warehouse and apartment.
The police also found and seized: two firearms (Kalashnikov and rifle), 4 shotguns, 2 police radios, 1 rubber bat, 1 baseball bat, 1,297 live ammunition and 17 double-barreled cartridges.
They are accused of the following criminal offenses: "Unauthorized possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition", "Unauthorized production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons", "Production and sale of narcotics", "Hiding income", "Unauthorized possession of uniform", committed in collaboration
"The police operation codenamed "Double Strike" is being finalized, to crack down on the criminal activity of cannabis cultivation and production and illegal possession of weapons."
The operation was carried out by the Mirditë Police Commissariat services in cooperation with the Lezha DVP Operational Forces and the National Security Forces, Tirana Unit.
Drugs, firearms and hunting weapons, combat ammunition, police radios, and other illegal items are seized.
Within the framework of continuous checks and patrols throughout the territory of the Mirditë district with a focus on preventing and detecting illegal possession of weapons and narcotics, as well as based on police intelligence that two brothers in the village of Kullaxhi, Mirditë were engaging in the criminal activity of cultivating, producing and selling cannabis and were keeping firearms in their home, the services of the Mirditë Police Commissariat organized and finalized the police operation codenamed "Double Strike".
During the operation, in the village of Kullaxhi, Mirditë, with the support of the Operational Force of the DVP Lezha and the National Security Force, Tirana Unit, a search was carried out in the warehouse and apartment owned by brothers I. D and PD.
During the search of the warehouse, three bags of cannabis in the shape of a bottle, weighing a total of 24.5 kilograms, were found and seized as material evidence.
During the search of the apartment and its territory, two firearms (Kalashnikov and rifle), 4 shotguns, 2 police radios, 1 rubber bat, 1 baseball bat, 1,297 live ammunition and 17 double-barreled cartridges were found.
Following the operation, 2 brothers, ID, 40 years old, and PD, 45 years old, residents of the village of Kullaxhi, Mirditë, were captured and arrested in flagrante delicto.
The firearms will be sent for examination to the Institute of Scientific Police to see if they have previously been used to commit criminal offenses against the person.
The procedural materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office at the First Instance Court of General Jurisdiction in Lezha, for further action for the criminal offenses "Illegal possession and production of weapons, explosive weapons and ammunition, "Illegal production and possession of hunting and sporting weapons", "Production and sale of narcotics", "Hiding income", "Unlawful possession of uniform", committed in collaboration" , the police announced.
