An escalation of a conflict between neighbors that risked ending in a serious criminal incident has been prevented in Saranda.
According to the official police announcement, a 62-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly entering his neighbors' apartment armed and threatening them with a firearm.
The incident was recorded in neighborhood no. 4 of the city of Saranda. The police were notified by a citizen, who reported that her neighbor had entered her apartment armed and threatened her and her family.
After receiving the notification, the services of the Saranda Police Commissariat immediately organized the intervention and went to the scene to neutralize the suspected perpetrator.
As a result of the rapid intervention, the police arrested citizen Sh. K., 62 years old, while during the actions the firearm he allegedly used, a revolver pistol, was also seized.
Preliminary investigations suspect that the conflict arose due to disagreements between neighbors regarding the use of a shared part of the building, specifically the terrace.
The procedural materials have been referred to the Saranda Prosecutor's Office, which is expected to continue the investigations and determine the relevant criminal offenses.
