A 42-year-old man wanted by Italian authorities has been detained at the Port of Durres while attempting to enter Albania using several identities to avoid identification.
During checks at the border point, the police discovered that citizen Armando Valchizan was using four other identities: Armando Dervishi, Armando Gheorghe, Altin Dervishi and Martin Dervishi.
The verifications carried out revealed that the 42-year-old was internationally wanted by Italian justice. The Pordenone court sentenced him to 5 years, 9 months and 5 days in prison for the criminal offenses of "theft with serious consequences" and "illegal immigration".
After the arrest, he was placed in handcuffs with the aim of extradition to Italy.
Meanwhile, Interpol Tirana is cooperating with Interpol Rome to complete the procedures for his surrender to the Italian authorities.
