A serious accident occurred on the evening of August 24 on the Saranda - Delvinë axis, where two sisters from the village of Kopaçeza lost their lives and another girl who was traveling with them was injured.
The accident involved two vehicles, one of which was driven by 23-year-old Kevin Nora and the other by 22-year-old Elvisa Dhimaku.
Kevin Nora was driving the Audi while intoxicated.
After being subjected to an alcohol test, the 23-year-old was arrested. It is also learned that the 23-year-old was driving at high speed in an Audi. He overtook the car and entered the lane in which the two girls were traveling. The two vehicles collided head-on and the accident resulted in tragedy for the two sisters Elvisa and Rozina Dhimaku, who lost their lives.
Meanwhile, the injured Antonela Zhupa, 24 years old, was initially taken to the Sranda hospital, but is now in Trauma in serious condition.
The accident occurred in a place called "Pularia" and the collision was so strong that the cars were torn to pieces and one of them overturned in the middle of the road. The investigation team is carrying out actions to fully clarify the circumstances of the accident.
'Delvinë/Preliminary information. Today, at around 20:15, on the Delvinë-Saranda road, citizen KN, 23 years old, driving an "Audi" vehicle, collided with a "Lancia" vehicle, driven by citizen Elvisa Dhimaku.
As a result of the accident, the driver of the "Lancia" vehicle, citizen Elvisa Dhimaku, 22 years old, lost her life, along with the passenger citizen Rozina Dhimaku, 20 years old, while the other passenger in this vehicle, citizen A. Zh., 24 years old, was injured and is under the care of doctors, the police announced.
During the past 24 hours, 5 accidents were recorded in our country, 2 of which were in the Fier region. In total, 3 people lost their lives, while 4 others were injured.
In Fier, a driver lost control and went off the road. He suffered a heart attack and died. In the same district, a 35-year-old man was hit by a Land Rover while crossing the road. Kreshnik Tomani is in serious condition of Trauma.
In Lushnja, a father and daughter riding a motorbike were injured after colliding with a vehicle. Meanwhile, 3 cars collided in Bulqiza, but there was only material damage.
