A good portion of the information regarding the group led by Xhevdet Troplini, known as Poja, was also provided by the repentant Nuredin Dumani, who has become a collaborator of justice.
In his testimony to Albanian and Italian investigators, Dumani shows the group's connections and their influence in Durrës.
"Xhevdet Troplini, nicknamed Poja, is the most important. Then comes his nephew, his sister's son, Visi i Pojës (Ervis Doçi) and his son, Fatmir Troplini," Dumani says in his testimony. He also points to the group's strength in Durrës and in the drug trade in Europe.
"In Hamburg it almost took over the whole city because I had also built my business in Hamburg. I'm talking about cocaine trafficking. They were able to dominate the market with the low price of cocaine," he said.
The justice associate indicates that he had personal contact with the accused and that they had told him that they could smuggle the drugs into the Calabria area since they had contacts there.
"Now they control all of Durrës, not before! Miri (Fatmir Troplini, son of Xhevdet Troplini) once told me that only the people who were paid for their security, for the neighborhood and for the family, paid 150 thousand euros per month. The minimum salary of a person for security varies from 500 to 1000 euros," Duman's testimony states.
